If a card uses a photograph or words that belong to you without your permission, tell us and we'll take it down.

How to tell us

Use the contact form and choose “Copyright”. So we can act on it, include:

What happens next

A person reads it within five business days. If it’s complete, we remove or hide the work and let the sender know it was reported, and why. Because cards are private links rather than public pages, you may need the sender’s link to show us where the work is.

If your content was taken down

If you believe it was removed by mistake, or that you had the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice. Include what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, your name and how to reach you, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address. We pass it to whoever reported it, and may restore the work if they don’t start legal action within 14 business days.

Repeated reports

An account that repeatedly uses other people’s work without permission will be closed.

A notice that knowingly misrepresents something can make whoever sent it liable for the harm it causes, so please only report work that’s genuinely yours.

Software we build on

Photographs taken on an iPhone are opened, in browsers that can’t open them themselves, with free software used unmodified under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 (which builds on the GNU General Public License):

Each link leads to that project’s source code. Your browser downloads them as a separate file, only when it’s needed, so they can be replaced with any compatible version.
